We’ve been giving mucho amor to Sesame Street this week because they’ve been giving el español y nuestra cultura mucho amor también!
Not only did the Sesame Street Workshop just launch a few Sesame Street books in Spanish on iBooks this week, introduced Mando this month and also a new Twitter account en español, now we found out that this Thursday, October 10th Romeo Santos will be singing “Quiero Ser Tu Amigo” with Elmo on Sesame Street!
Check it out here before it airs:
Sesame Street is credited with teaching me my first few words in spanish way back in the 70s. I’ve always said that if I would’ve stuck with it, I’d be fluent by now…instead of struggling in trying to learn it at age 42.
Great to see Sesame Street helping to show the benefits of speaking different languages, I always loved the show and can’t wait until my six month old son is old enough to watch it. When I was recently talking to my mum about reading ‘Bilingual is Better’, she mentioned remembering seeing Sesame Street have bits in Spanish (or a Spanish language version?) during a year that we spent in California in the early 1980s.
