My daughter is at the ripe age where new words are just constantly flying out of her mouth every day. I’m in total awe of this natural language-acquisition process of an almost two-year old.
I’m also in awe that she’s definitely already a bilingual little niña, using her hundreds of new words to construct mini Spanglish sentences, like: “Más jugo, please.” “Shoe acá pié.”
I’m totally not bothered by it because that’s exactly how my own brain functions, moving seamlessly from one language to the other.
That’s why the language-introduction approach used in the Professor Pocket CDs was completely relevant to us. Professor Pocket is a family-owned company that’s created two bilingual (Spanish/English) CDs and supplemental materials to help children develop a lifelong passion for learning languages.
At first, I thought Camila was still too young to completely understand and follow the storyline in “Our Silly Farm Adventure” since it’s recommended for children ages 2 and up. That was not the case at all. Maybe she still doesn’t grasp the context of what she is listening to, but she loves the silly animal sounds, the catchy songs and the identifiable kids’ voices. I’ve also caught her adorably repeating the key words and anticipating the songs many times.
You will like:
- How it naturally and aptly flows from English to Spanish through the wacky interaction of the three main characters: Professor Pocket (English), Desi the Dinosaur and Chico the Chicken (mostly Spanish).
- The original story lines with just the correct dose of silliness to entertain toddlers and older kids alike. A dinosaur on a farm? Yes, it’s far-fetched, but it works.
- Spanish words and key concepts are effectively reinforced with the use of songs which you will find yourself singing along to in no time, like: “¡Ay, caramba! No hay dinosaurios” and “La la la la Leche” (a song about a cow that produces chocolate milk, yum!).
- PERFECT FOR LONG CAR RIDES!! OK, in my book, this should be reason enough to love these CDs. Your child will be absorbed, entertained, she’ll learn new words in both English and Spanish and you’ll have a smile on your face from watching her dance in her seat and imitate the voices she hears. At least I do.
The two mom’s behind Professor Pocket, Nathalie and Paula, want to give you a chance to win a free copy of both “Our Silly Farm Adventure” and “Our Hawaiian Hula Adventure.”

We’re always looking for spanish songs for the kids to listen to in the car, and these look perfect. I listened to a few on the website, and I liked what I heard. The song Bailar el Hula was fun and as a person who knows very little spanish I understood quite a bit, so hopefully my kids would also.

Well, my four year old listened to the soundclips with me, and his favorite is No Hay Dinosaurios because he liked the parts when they told him to repeat the words in the song.
I liked Bailan Nubes!

I’m frequently looking for music or books that are bilingual. We liked the Hawiian Adventure CD clips.
I like the Tantas Tortas on the Hawaiian CD. It’s silly and I like the catchy music.

I have a grandbaby arriving in September. I am totally commited that she will be raised bilingual – English/Spanish. Spanish is not our family’s native language as although we are conversant, it just is not the same. I love the Hawiian Hula Adventure as the baby’s name will be Malia Kai – Hawaiian. What a great connection. We can learn about the volcans and sing at the same time.

Maybe I’m just a bit if a naysayer… But my gut tells me that codeswitching is inappropiate during the formative years of language development. I can’t tell you how many times I come across adults here in Miami that mixed Spanish and English growing up and, now, as adults cannot hold a conversation only in Spanish. I personally think Spanglish is a luxury only for individuals that are fully bilingual… and not for kids just learning to speak.
I love the song Los Pollitos. My grandmother sang me that song when I was growing up. It beings back the best memories. I would love for my children to sing it too.

Great for nina
How funny, Alex and I were listening to the sample songs and I have to say we both liked “Bailar el Hula” the minute the song said mueve las caderas, Alex was moving them really fast. What can I say, dancing is in the blood……
Wow, these CD’s are great!
I like how easily the use of both languages flow. The Caballo Blanco song is cute. I like how they use words like “despasio and rapido” and make it both easy and fun for the little ones to learn. These would be a great addition to our CD collection of Spanish and in this case spanglish music.
My mind also works like yours and your little one. It just flows from one language to the other and I find that RI does the same. ” Mami, more leche, please.” or (one of my favorites) “Mami, I love you mucho, mucho, mucho!” And now that little A is starting to say more and more words, she is also picking up words in both languages.

I like the Caballo Blanco song – I know my sons would have fun learning some of those words like “rapido” and get a kick out of the “ll” sound!
My grandkids are learning spanish from their Mom and it would be nice if I could learn some also.
I liked this song 2.No Hay Dinosaurios. I did not understand it, because I do not know Spanish, but I would like for my children to learn spanish. This is where I listened to it from_webBite2_AyeCarumbaDinomp3. Thank you for having this giveaway.

I liked the Las Vacas song, mostly because the cows “moo-d” so cute! Thanks for the giveaway!
I am subscribed to the email list.
Los Animales Cantan sounds like a song we could listen to over and over again here! I can see us all singing along in the car to it.

I am sending out another tweet about the giveaway and your site. I REALLYwould like to have this.
If they use this in the car, maybe my daughter and son-in-law will learn some Spanish, also. I wish I’d had it when my daughter was young.
I forgot to mention the tracks I listened to.
They were:
¡Ay Caramba! No Hay Dinosaurios!
Vuela Caballo Blanco
I liked Vuela Caballo Blanco, because of the English comments inbetween the Spanish. It helped in understanding what was being said. The repetitiveness, was, also, a big help. I still hope that in the car listening will help my daughter & son-in-law to learn, too.
The song, Las Vacas switched easily back and forth between English and Spanish. I felt like I could easily understand and follow along. This would be great for my new grandson whose parents want him to be bilingual.
My wife teaches ESL
I like Tantas Tortas (Hawaiin) it’s cute and I could see that getting stuck in my head!
