My girl is finally at the stage where the images of Halloween are not that spooky to her. At least she tries being brave and that´s huge. Last year there was no way she would even get close to the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland during Mickey´s Halloween Party, but this year she braved it…with my hand over her eyes and her peeking out!
Mickey´s Halloween Party is really what Halloween needs to be about for kids. Spooky, yet fun. Tons of candy we´ll never eat. Mickey ghosts and pumpkins at every corner, plus the most-loved villains parading all around. What´s not to love?
What one ticket to Mickey’s Halloween Party will get you:
- Viewing of the boo-tiful Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular — exclusively for Mickey’s Halloween Party Guests
- Admission to the Disneyland Park up to 3 hours prior to the event’s start time
- Take photos with favorite Disney Villains
- Special treat stations offering both yummy candy and healthy goodies
- Dress up and enjoy the ghoulish goings-on at Mickey’s Costume Party Cavalcade
- At Piratepalooza in Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, kick up your boots with Goofy and other swashbucklers.
- Come to Tomorrowland Terrace for Buzz Lightyear’s Intergalactic Space Jam — a hi-energy dance party that goes to infinity and beyond
- Access to nearly all attractions, including all the Halloween-themed attractions such as Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday
- Lively music so your bones can boogie
- Do arrive early. You can enter the park 3 hours before it starts, and try to use that. We got there right when the 5pm Soundsational Summer Parade was starting in Main Street and it was packed, packed, packed. We also had to wait for everyone coming out and got stuck. Get there early!
- Get there early and secure a Fast Pass for Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday. They truly get very crowded.
- If you want to watch the Halloween Screams fireworks {and you should!}, make sure you reserve a spot in front of the Castle at least 45 minutes prior. It’s definitely worth it. Buy a corn dog or turkey leg and picnic there while you wait!
- Don’t get the kids excited about seeing princesses, Mickey, Minnie or any of the gang. Remember, the Villains have taken over; even Toon Town is closed. But, if you arrive prior to the event starting, you will get to see them and visit Toon Town.
- If you’re going with little ones, pack pajamas for the drive back home. They will be pooped and crashing hard from that sugar rush!
I have three kids under the age of 6 when we will be traveling to Disneyland…is it worth spending the extra money to do the Halloween Party? My concern is that there will be so many people in the park that it’s not worth trying to go because of the lines…what do you think? Is it practical for our kids first visit or better to wait for another trip? Thanks for you help!
Hi! If this is your kids first time visiting the park and you´ll be there during the day to go to the attractions, then this party will be an added treat. Yes, the lines will be long at most of the rides because many of the lands will be closed and some special holiday themed ones will be the main attraction. There’s also a great party atmosphere all over that the kids really enjoy. The trick-or-treating is very fun and the lines move fast. Also, the fireworks are not-to-be-missed. I do think it’s worth it because you get to see the park in a different vibe. here’s a tip: if you’re there for Oct. 31st, go to Disney’s California Adventure during the day because most people are at Disneyland and the waits are super short!!!
