April is Earth month! Did you celebrate Earth Day last week? We did!

The kids and I are now on a mission to use at least one recycled item in our crafts.

Here is our latest Upcycled Container craft: The Snacks on the Go!

It is the perfect container to hold the yummiest snacks from trail mix to fish crackers or any of your favorite dry snacks.

To create your own personalized snacks on the go container here is what you will need:

supplies_

-A Powder Drink Mix Empty Container

-Foam sheets in at least 3 different colors

-Scissors

-Ribbon

-Adhesive (foam glue, gel strips, or just purchase foam with peel and stick)

-Foam Stickers

-Hole puncher

-Circle punch (optional)

-Marker and Glitter Glue (optional)

To get started you will need to follow these super simple steps:

steps_

-Cut your foam to fit around your container. We used different sized strips; they don’t need to be perfect. Get fancy with it!

-Adhere them to your container and secure each strip with extra adhesive on the ends. We used gel glue strips.

-Hole punch the bottom part of the container and knot the ribbon. Ribbon should be long enough to be used around your child’s neck to carry the container.

-Decorate your container to your liking. Don’t forget to decorate the bottom and the top! We used glitter glue, a marker to put our names and Foam Stickers!

Walmart has a variety of affordable cute foam stickers to help personalize your craft!

All done! Now fill it up with your favorite snacks and take it on the go! Perhaps your next outdoor walk or even a day at the park!

Remember to love your Earth and every little way of recycling or upcycling helps!
