GIVEAWAY!
We’re halfway through our “31 Days of Reading in Spanish” where we’re reviewing one kids book in Spanish every single day in July. We asked our contributors and SpanglishBaby familia to choose their kid’s libro favorito en español to review and the result has been a wonderful collection of books that together create the most fabulous Spanish-language library for any child.
For an updated list of all books being reviewed, go here.
We’ve also given away two prizes of $100 worth of books in Spanish for kids to random SpanglishBaby friends who shared on Instagram, Twitter and/or SpanglishBabyPlayground.com a picture of their child with their favorite Spanish book . Our first week winner will receive a collection of books we ordered from a friend visiting Mexico City — very unique and special books not found in the U.S.! Our second week winner took a collection of books from Puerto Rico.
Now that we enter the third week, we’re changing things up a little by also including an entry method through the rafflecopter below for this very special gift pack of unique books provided by LA Libreria.
I met the ladies that launched LA Libreria in Los Angeles earlier this year and was quickly in love with the carefully curated books they offer when I visited their booth at LéaLA in May. I quickly grabbed a small fortune worth in books and I have yet to regret it. I’ve already reviewed two of them: La Cenicienta by Gabriela Mistral and Juegos Tradicionales.
LA Libreria will open up their online store next month, but for now you can check out their full catalog on their website and like them on Facebook so you can stay up-to-date on their books and local events.
You can also be the first to win a prize pack of their beautiful and unique books valued at almost $80. The prize includes:
La Cenicienta by Gabriela Mistral. Ed. Amanuta ($12 + tax)
Juegos Tradicionales by Maria Angélica Ovalle. Ed. Amanuta ($13 + tax)
El Libro Negro de los Colores by Menena Cottin. Ediciones Tecolote ($18 + tax)
Niños de América by Francisca Palacios. Ed. Amanuta ($13 + tax)
El Árbol Triste by Triunfo Arciniegas. Ediciones SM ($8 + tax)
To enter to win just visit LA Libreria online and tell us which of the books in their catalog you would love to get for your child and why. Make sure you enter via the rafflecopter below to make your comment valid.
How can I pick just one? I would pick Alicia en el pais de las Maravillas, because she loves the story and would love to hear it in Spanish.
I would pick “1, 2, 3 Cuantos ves?” because we are working a lot on counting right now and I like the illustration style.
I’d love Descubriendo el magico mundo de Picasso. It would be wonderful to share magical moments of Picasso’s Blue Period and Cubism with my daughter,
I would pick Juegos Tradicionales so we can have lots of fun activities to do and pass down the traditions at the same time.
I would pick Niños de América because for us, it is important to teach our little ones about children from different places all over the world, particularly America since both my husband and I are from South America.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love the book Descubriendo el magico mundo de Picasso because for us it important that our son’s creativity is fostered. Learning about the lives of artists and their ways of seeing helps give him a window into the creative process. We love to read highly visual texts with him in Spanish because it supports his biligualism and biliteracy!
I loved adivinanzas when I was little so I would choose Adivinanzas Mexicanas.
I’m an email subscriber!
I would love “Teo en la piscina”. My kiddos are starting swimming lessons and I am sure they would enjoy this book.
“Juegos tradicionales” it’s the one that catches my eye for my little niece! The title reminds me the old days in which my friends and I used to play games in la cuadra; I would be very happy to transmit the simple-unique experience through this book and well…. play these games with my niece! =)
Me gusta el libro de Adivinanzas mexicanas para mi hijo, ya que le encantan las adivinanzas. Tambien me gusta el libro de Hecho a mano porque mi hijo es muy creativo y le gustan las manulidades.
I like the animals book because children love animals!
I would get “El libro negro de los colores” because I have started a collection of books about colored and like to add unique ones especially in Spanish.
We would get Ulisses. We are looking for more books about Greek & Roman mythology & culture
I subscribe.
I would like my daughter to read “yo soy hermano major” because even though they are 11 years apart they love each other like best friends.
Hola Spanglishbaby.com: Big fan of your blog & so excited to get to know all these amazing resources for my ninita-on-the-way!! I would choose “1, 2, 3 Cuantos Ves?” because I would love for my little girl to love math — Dios knows we need more latinas in the sciences!:) This little book would be a great first step.
I am going to purchase Adivinanzas Mexicanas! My kids love that stuff! Thanks for the great find!
I subscribe
Would love to win this for my 2 girls!
The Book Que Animales! All The Kids Love Animals, This Would Be A Great Book To Add To Their Collection!
