I‘m sure it’s happened to you. You’re happily minding your own business and out of nowhere you start belting out the theme song from the latest movie/TV show your kids are currently addicted to. Well, you’ll be happy to know that if it happens to be a Disney movie, you can now sing to the the tune of Los Lobos!
In their new album, Los Lobos Goes Disney, the three-time Grammy award winners, cover a bunch of Disney classics with “a distinctive Latin rock ‘n’ roll twist.” In the 13-track CD you’ll find songs from The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, Robin Hood and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
I remember seeing Los Lobos in concert when they opened for Carlos Santana a few years back and thinking their tunes were super catchy and danceable. Well, they’ve done it again with Los Lobos Goes Disney. Here’s some of what you’ll find in this new CD:
- The song Heigh-Ho from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the beat of rock ‘n’ roll drums with lyrics in Spanish that say: “Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, a casa vuelvo yo. Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, el día terminó.”
- An instrumental version of When You Wish Upon a Star/It’s a Small World from Pinocchio which really rocks
- A very danceable Bare Necessities from The Jungle Book

What a fun CD this one must be! Los Lobos rock! Love their music and – as you said – their danceability!
Our favorite was The Bare Necessities! Always a favorite DVD in our home, this song just adds a super fiesta feel to the whole moment!

I just discovered your blog today and it’s my absolute new favorite! I can’t wait to go back and read everything I’ve missed.
My favorite song on the CD is hands down, “Not In Nottingham”. I watched Robin Hood over and over as a kid and can still say every line of the movie, (much to the annoyance of others in the room.) … Los Lobos rendition of it is even better than the original. Love it!
The Tikki Room was great. great memories of my kids loving that show at the magic kingdom. Thanks
I like Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah , they did a good job remaking it.
I’m thrilled Disney is rethinking some of their old themes to fit into our large still growing Latino community! My kids enjoyed Hispanic Heritage Month so much, that when they heard Los Lobos, they naturally danced as if they were hearing some cumbia rockera… or something! The whole thing is great. Go MIS LOBOS, go!
when you wish upon a star is a long time favorite of mine.
Wish upon a star was great.
Zippidy Doo-Daa was awesome! I really enjoyed their version!
I love Cruella De Vil
Gaston is one we sing along a lot to! Thanks for the chance.

How much fun is this Los Lobos-styled Disney classics?!? You can’t beat I Wan’na Be Like You – The Jungle Book.
I really like “Ugly Bug Ball”,,& it’s probably just because i loved the original movie & am a huge Hailey Mills fan.
Thanks!
heigh ho is pretty cool, makes me wanna see the movie again
Heigh-Ho is the best, its just fun and a good song
My favorite song is -I Will Go Sailing No More – Toy Story. I love the music to this song and how Los Lobos performs it. The lyrics and the way it is sung really touch my heart! Absolutely beautiful!
.-= Annette K.´s last blog ..Javamomma: So, do you feel a Friday Dance coming on? =-.

heigh ho mverno@roadunner.com
I like Heigh-Ho
I like “When You Wish Upon a Star “
I would choose The Bare Necessities from Jungle Book
Cruella De Vil is my favorite because it reminds me of singing it when I was little.
I like Cruella de Vil best because it reminds me of going to see the movie 101 Dalmatians in the theatre when I was a child.
Zippidy Doo-Daa rocks:)
