One of the disadvantages (or advantages, depending on how you look at things) of not having cable or satellite TV is that neither I nor my children are ever really up to date when it comes to new movies, TV series, games, toys and such. So I’m almost embarrassed to say that I didn’t know what HOP was until I was told we’d be getting an Easter basket filled with goodies from the movie!
I went online and found the video for the song in Spanish–Caramelo–that artist Jencarlos Canela sings for the movie´s soundtrack. Cute chicks, a dancing E.B. (Easter Bunny), and a catchy song in Spanish were enough to get us excited. Watch for yourself.

When we opened up the basket, Vanessa was fascinated with all the candy, but her favorite things were the E.B. plush toy and the pink beret — even though she had no clue what it was all about. I explained it was all from a new movie called HOP that we´ll go see once it opens up in theaters on April 1st . Needless to say, she was hooked! So much so that she even took her E.B. to school for show and tell. When I picked her up from school and asked her how it went, she told me she’d forgotten the name of the plush toy, but that it was okay because her classmates knew it and helped her out!

He was born on Feb 22nd, 2011. It will be his first holiday in this world. He already has an Easter basket waiting for him. This will also be the first Easter for my first son as an hermano mallor. We will spend the day with family, good food and an Easter hunt…..we just have to get the Easter outfits!
I already subsribe to your blog updates
Since we do not have Easter in Colombia, I just take my son to the local park were they have activities.
I do teach my son about the religious meaning of easter. I do not understand were the bunny and the eggs come from, so I will leave that to the school, but we attend mass and enjoy some food.

We plan ahead by saving all our eggshells then decorate them and fill them with confetti. My boys table is already festive with easter decorations and we read biblical stories in spanish to understand why we celebrate Easter. On Easter sunday we are with family eating delicious food, easter egg hunts and of some of us if not all attend Easter mass.

Easter is spent at my house by going to Church and afterwards our traditional family Easter dinner. Easter baskets full of goodies are exchanged between family members and the grandchildren. Such a fun occasion for our family.
Growing up, my parents, decedents from Ecuador, never took us out on Easter egg hunts or anything Easter bunny related. However now that I have my own child (1yr 10month old boy) I will start that tradition with him and hopefully he will pass on to his own children one day as well as the religious meaning of Easter that my parents did pass down.

Hello Spanglishbaby!
This year is going to be a special Easter. My twins turned four this winter and they really finally understand who the Easter Bunny is and being raised Catholic, started to attend Lenten mass. Also, we will have our Easter in two households – my mom’s – for that great Puerto Rican food for lunch (arroz con gandules and lechon!!) I can’t wait.
Also starting on Good Friday – we have a religious movie marathon – we first start with JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR – we have been watching this with my mom since the VHS was out in 1982. Then THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. And end with PRINCE OF EGYPT. Saturday night we prepare the backyards at both houses for the egg hunt on Sunday morning.
And then for dinner we go to my mom-in-law’s for absolutely great Mexican food – Pollo con mole, tamales, maiz – and we get to share it with my mom’s foreign exchange student from Paraguay. He has been telling us his customs and celebrations too! This summer, we will be visiting his family for a week since they haven’t met a Mexa-Rican bunch like us!!
If you want to take a look at our funny family – please visit my facebook page!
Hope we have a shot a winning the Hop basket. I really want that Pink Beret and the twins want the rest of the basket!!!

We color eggs and love hiding/seeking the plastic ones. We haven’t gotten into the easter baskets yet. Although I think this will be the year to start since my oldest (3 years old) went shopping with his babysitter when she purchased items for her children’s baskets and he’s been talking about “dia del conejo” ever since.

For Easter we usually have a nice dinner at my house with my mother and there is a lot of fun and giggles as my daughter hunts Easter eggs.
This Easter we’ll be going to my Mom’s house to eat and visit. If there’s time I’m sure we’ll take my daughter to the lake nearby to feed the ducks.

We celebrate Easter by doing an egg hunt and going to church.
We start our Easter celebration on Good Friday by decorating eggs and talking about why we celebrate this very special holiday. We make resurrection eggs also. We participate in egg hunts throughout the weekend with community and family. We attend church on Sunday wearing our new outfits then come home to special dinner. Throughout the weekend we watch the children’s version of the Passion for Christ and any other movies that seem appropriate.
We celebrate Easter by celebrating the love God has for us and teaching our daughter. God shows us with the renewl of Spring. It’s a beautiful time of the year and it’s a great time to see God’s love through the eye’s of children. Create beautiful memories by going to church, telling the people in your life how much you love them and reaching out to others. Ask others to come join your family for festivities. Love is what God is and God gave us his everlasting love by giving us his son Jesus. <3 <3 <3

Hello. My family celebrates with our extended families on both sides, either coming to our house or us going to theirs. We each bring a dish of some sorts and I usually bring the desserts. We love to spend time with family and we get to go to Easter services when possible together too. I would LOVE to win this basket for my kiddos…we had a wonderful time at the movies on Sunday seeing this movie. How cute…Kids have already asked when they can get HOP on DVD/Blueray.
