Minnie’s Masquerade DVD with Mickey Mote {Giveaway}

Disney has done it again! Minnie’s Masquerade, the latest Mickey Mouse Clubhouse preschool DVD which debuts today, is wildly entertaining and has quickly become my 4 1/2 year old daughter’s favorite — thanks in (a huge) part to the amazing Mickey Mote.

Shaped like Mickey ears, the Mickey Mote is a kid-friendly remote control that allows children to play interactively while watching the video. The Mickey mote has to be programmed before it can be used. Even though the instructions to do this are super easy, it did take me a while to figure it out and Vanessa was getting a bit frustrated. Good thing, the movie comes with a paper mask which my daughter wasted no time decorating.

As I was about to give up, I decided to use the TV’s remote control instead of the DVD’s to program the Mickey Mote and we were ready to go!

Soon after the first episode started — it has 5 and one of them has never been seen before — Vanessa was able to use el Mickey Remoto to answer a question about which shoes Minnie should wear to the masquerade by pressing one of the four color-coded shapes on the remote. You have to select the Discovery Mode feature in order to use the Mickey Mote and choose one of two levels of play depending on your child’s age.

The best part for our bilingual household is that there’s a Spanish (and a French) track which includes all of the content in the Discovery Mode feature. I’ve always been a huge fan of anything Disney and ever since it became essential that the media my children consume be in Spanish, they’re pretty much #1 on my list. The translations are impeccable, which never ceases to amaze me even though I know know better than to expect any less from Disney.

The Mickey Mote can be used with any Disney Preschool DVD which includes the Discovery Mode feature.
