Make A Fan Out of You {Giveaway}

It would be an understatement to say my husband is a soccer/futból aficionado. The word is apasionado.  He grew up in Mexico City, where futbol and telenovelas are an oasis of escapism.  His grandfather led two of the most popular and beloved clubs, which also happen to be rivals from the same city:  El America y los Pumas.

Fútbol and Pumas are a part of his heritage and one he embraced early on and trained to become a great, yet not professional, soccer player. Ever since I met him I became a Pumas fan, too.  We´ve celebrated all their victories, and too many of their failures together.  Never in an actual stadium, though, because he firmly believes that when he goes to the stadium his team, Pumas, loose. How´s that for a loyal fan?

Of course, when our daughter was born we had to find a onesie or Pumas t-shirt for her to wear. Especially during the 2009 championship when Pumas reigned.  We could not find a single one online or in L.A. so we had to request the encarguito from my mother in law in Mexico City!  She was happy to ship us a box full of Pumas baby gear! And, we dressed up our girl in Puma´s official gear to celebrate the victory in style.

All this to say, we are excited that there’s finally a small business that had the vision to realize that baby and kids´sportswear,  personalized with some of the most popular Mexican soccer clubs image,  is a sure hit amongst the crazy, fanatical crowd made up by the likes of my husband;  saving me the hassle of requesting encarguitos from family in Mexico.

Make A Fan has definitely made a fan of us. We can now have a blast easily designing t-shirts, caps, onesies or even bibs online to send as gifts to our friends that are Chivas, Americas or Cruz Azul fans and personalizing them with the names of their chiquitos.  Make A Fan has also gone beyond soccer and jumped into the kitschy Lucha Libre territory, as well as the flag-waving national pride sentiment amongst Latinos in U.S.A.

They also just launched a line to celebrate the Mexican Bicentennial. Check out their well-laid out online shop, available in Spanish or English, and play around with the customization options so you can see for yourself how easy and fun is to create something unique that will make both your marido and kid happy. Our Camila is all geared up with her brand new and personalized Pumas t-shirt (see picture above.)  Now, all we need is another Pumas win!
