Believe it or not, it’s that time of year: time to send your kids back to school – or to school for the first time. To prepare them for those early mornings and long days, I’ve come up with a list of titles about the classroom that young children will love. I’ve also included a Spanish thesaurus and preschool math book so that you can keep up with Spanish skills at home, whether or not your kids are getting the language reinforcement at school.
Last on the list are two books for parents. One is a Spanish guide for those who are unaccustomed to the U.S. education system yet trying to help their children navigate it. The other is a collection of short stories to remind us of what our children are going through as they attempt to fit in at school, especially in a bicultural environment.
