My baby boy is supposed to arrive in about four weeks. ¡Auxilio! (It sounds even more impending now that I’ve written it down like that…) I’m excited and ready to meet him, but I’m also a bit worried about how our family’s dynamic will change and how my daughter, Vanessa, will react once she finally meets her “manito“–as she calls him.

Another concern of mine is how I’ll get used to the grueling and demanding schedule associated with having a newborn…AGAIN! Vanessa is now 3 years old and–not to brag or anything–she slept the entire night a few days into her fourth month alive! In other words, it’s been a w-h-i-l-e since the last time I got to “sleep” only a couple of hours a night.

Since I pretty much know I’ll be out of the loop for a bit while recovering from the delivery and adjusting to my new life, I’m writing this in the hopes that one of you, loyal readers, will jump in to help in the form of writing a guest post for SpanglishBaby…

If you’ve been following us for a while, you know we’ve successfully posted these type of entries in the past mostly because we believe we can all benefit by sharing our stories of raising bilingual kids. Sharing and creating a community of like-minded parents is one of the main reasons why SpanglishBaby even exists.

Ok, so what are we looking for? We’d love if you can submit a post related to any of the following categories:

  • Your Story – We invite you to share your family story with us. How are you doing it?
  • Daily Learning – What our kids teach us everyday and what we learn through others on the same mission.
  • The Culture of Food – Recipes we find and share.  Food brings us closer to our culture.
  • Tradition + Culture – Ways of keeping our native traditions alive at home.

If what you’d like to share with the rest of us doesn’t fit into any of the above categories, no worries. Just drop us a line letting us know what you’d like to write about and we’ll figure it out. The categories are really to help you brainstorm in case you really want to write for us, but are not sure about what topic in particular.

Click on the different categories mentioned above for samples of what we’ve written in the past or you can go to each one of them on the right hand sidebar.

You can either leave us a comment below or you can email us, so we can get in contact and sort out the details to make this an opportunity to benefit all. I thank all of you kind souls in advance! Gracias and I look forward to reading and promoting all your awesome stories :)
