I was delighted to get a chance to review some books in the “Quién fue…?” collection for Young Readers. It was so refreshing to see books written in Spanish about important characters I had learned about when I was younger. I didn’t have these growing up — everything was in English.
This collection is amazing!
The books are written in an interesting way with information that is both educational and entertaining. Each book has vocabulary that is age-appropriate and contains pictures that support the text, providing images that bring the words to life. There are also interesting text boxes with information on the time period, other characters, social movements or moments in history. Each book has the character’s timeline in the back, providing important dates during the life of the person who is depicted in the book. There is also a chronology of the world, with important dates in history so readers can see what was happening during that time around the world. Both young readers and parents will learn a lot!

Helen Keller se ve super interesante!
The Pablo Picasso book looks great to share con mi hija!
They all look great but we would love Helen Keller cos she was a woman who overcame huge obstacles and Martin Luther King cos he was a man with a great message.
I think my daughter would enjoy the Helen Keller story as she is currently learning about the senses in her kindergarten unit. This would be a great way to extend Spanish vocabulary that she already knows in English and Chinese. Plus, there’s the ultra motivating story about overcoming obstacles and making the best with what you have.
Would love this set to complement my English set
I think we would most be excited to read about Abraham Lincoln, especially since we’ve been talking about Thanksgiving traditions recently.

Good day,
My son and I would love to read about Lincoln, in Spanish. What a treat!
Thank you,
I would choose Martin Luther King Jr. or Abraham Lincoln. I do a unit with my first graders and compare with Cesar Chavez how all three are alike and different. We call it the Freedom Fighters.
Also new on the email list. I teach Dual Language so quality Spanish books are hard to find.
Obviously Helen Keller for us! What an impactful story of how one can use their hardships to help others.
We are most excited to read about Abraham Lincoln!

I’m already a subscriber. I am most interested in the MLK book. I think that would go along nicely with what we’re learning right now.
Pablo Picasso would be fun because we could look at the art too!
Oh, wow! This does look amazing. I think the kids would be interested in Edison… but any of the books look like a great introduction to biographies and historical figures!
