Music is one of the most effective ways to learn and/or maintain a language, especially at the critical age of 2 to 6. The husband and wife team that created the Sing-A-Lingo music program understand that very well and are making life a musical in Spanish for many children with their CDs, books and other original learning tools.
We received their multiple award-winning En Mi Casa CD, a singable book, stickers, and lyric and vocabulary cards all to accompany the music. I was really only expecting the CD and was delighted to learn they had created an extensive and effective kit that my daughter and I could thoroughly enjoy. The music on the CD is simple, fun and with lyrics about everyday topics and objects your kid will easily identify with. Pair it up with the “Buenas Noches” singable book and your bilingual babe will be enthralled.
My girl is going through a stage where she loudly sings and sings all day about anything. The Sing-A-Lingo catchy and fun songs have definitely encouraged her singing in Spanish much more! Our faves: “Ponte a Bailar” and “Señor Sol.” Many of the songs have also been a strategic mom’s aide for me in that I sing them when I need her to do something. Take “Lava las Manos” which repeatedly says wash your hands and brush your teeth. When she hears me sing it, well, when she allows me to sing, she’s much more cooperative and we turn it into a fun, musical moment.

I like the Señor Sol song! My oldest son used to sing the English version on any rainy day in the hopes it would turn sunny in time for outdoor playtime at preschool.
