The summer solstice may not have arrived yet, but the heat, the thunderstorms, and (in Florida) the swarming bugs have. Memorial Day cookouts are just the beginning: hopefully you’re all geared up for a few months of pool or beach trips and plenty of helado.
One of my favorite things about summer is having extra time for reading. Cuando yo era niña, I used to drive my parents and grandparents crazy with endless trips to the library and bookstore. I read 3 to 5 books per day, and I just wish some of them had been bilingual or Spanish books! Here are some great ways to get your hijos on the same track – towards a lifelong love of libros. Enjoy reading most of these titles to your littlest ones, or send older children off to the hammock with the last two on the list. There’s nothing better than sharing the joys of the year’s brightest season en dos idiomas.
Visit La Tiendita to order any or all of these summer-themed books.
