A Father/Son Movie: Real Steel
Last week I was part of a group of mom and dad bloggers invited by Walt Disney Motion Pictures and DreamWorks to attend a screening of the movie Real Steel and then conduct interviews with members of the cast and crew; including the dreamy Hugh Jackman. I have to admit I thought it was odd that Disney would put so much emphasis on promoting what seems like a robot and dark-action movie to a group of parent bloggers which areRead More ...
Kids + TV: What They Watch Does Matter
Spongebob Squarepants is not good for your 4-year-old’s brain – at least that’s what a new study from the University of Virginia says. Researchers divided sixty 4-year-olds into three groups. The first group watched a 9-minute clip of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants, the second watched a 9-minute clip of PBS’s Caillou, and the third group drew pictures for nine minutes instead of watching television. Spanish Book Clubs for Bilingual Children

When she can’t get the sparkly ballet slippers she wants, and instead receives a pair of zapatos de goma, little Gladys is disappointed and embarrassed. She tries her hardest to destroy or lose the shoes, but fails to rid herself of theRead More ...
This Is My Mexico…The Real One {Video}
Remember that amazing trip to Oaxaca I went on to kick off the Mexico Today campaign? Many amazing things happened while there, and one of them was that there was a video crew interviewing some of the Ambassadors about our favorite things and places in Mexico. Since we happened to be in one of my two most-loved spots of all: Oaxaca (the other being Riviera Maya), it felt completely natural for me to speak my heart out in front ofRead More ...
Hispanic Heritage Celebrated on Kids TV
Hispanic Heritage Month is here, and what better time to teach our kids a little more about our history. Since we Latinos are very diverse, it’s great to be able to teach our kids a little more about not only our family’s history, but about the history of Latinos throughout North, Central, and South America, and all the beautiful islands in the Caribbean. See? We’ve got so much to cover! Now let’s face it, our kids love to watch TV,Read More ...
