This week we’re joining the celebrations of Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros that are happening all around the country in libraries, bookstores, schools, and such.
From the official website: “Día is a celebration EVERY DAY of children, families, and reading that culminates every year on April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.”
This Thursday, we will bring you an interview with Día’s creator and award-winning bilingual (English/Spanish) children’s books author, Pat Mora. Roxana spoke to her about the idea behind this celebration, the importance of reading to children at an early age, as well as her decision to write bilingual children’s books. Not only that, she also gives us a copy of Book Fiesta! to give away! So, you know you have to come back!
Today, we want to stay with the theme of celebrating kids and books. We found this great video from Charlie y Lola in Spanish and their adventures at the library. Disfrútalo y celebra los libros con tu niño.

I love the concept of having a “Día de los Niños/Libros “.
Great video, too! My son loves Charlie and Lola. Unfortunately, the video is not complete
@Raul-Sorry about that glitch!
I’ve added the second part of the video as well. It’s too good to miss!
Thanks for the head’s up.
My daughter LOVES Charlie y Lola (thanks for the info)…well, her favorite episodes from youtube.com are “Ese es mi libro” and “Yo soy el sol” and “Nunca comere un tomate” (which she actually calls “lo que come Lola). By the way, “nunca comere un tomate” helped me with my daughter to eat lots of cauliflower and green beans. She says “me gustan las nuves y las gotas verdes.” She imitates Lola and has learned new words and concepts from her! She is slowly opening up to other Charlie y Lola episodes, but these are her favorite so far.
Hi, I wanted to see this video, but it’s not coming up. Was it removed? Do you know where else to find it? Thanks so much!
