Paul Ecke Central Elementary (PEC) opened its doors in 1927. Located in the north coastal region of San Diego County, PEC currently serves approximately 500 students in grades K-6. The Dual Language program provides literacy and content instruction in two languages (Spanish/English) and integrates native English speakers with native Spanish speakers in the classroom. The program’s goals are to develop bilingual and biliterate students with high academic achievement in both languages, and an appreciation of and respect for other languages and cultures
