We don’t go to the movies much…I’ve taken my boys to two sensory-friendly film screenings at our local theater and we didn’t make it to the end of the movie either time. So I tend to prefer watching movies on DVD at home, and we were excited to preview Hop, the story of E.B., a computer-animated, would-be Easter bunny, and hapless slacker human Fred.
I enjoyed the plot well enough, and was especially amused by the appearance of David Hasselhoff and his nod to Knight Rider. My kids loved the cute Pink Berets who are after E.B., as well as E.B.’s drum solo to Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite,” which is in constant rotation on my car stereo.
They loved the colorful scenes of the candy factory as well, and since we watched the movie in Spanish (Spanish language tracks: another great reason to watch movies at home, and this one was quite good), they learned the word “malvavisco” for marshmallow and “boina” for beret. A morning’s worth of entertainment and some new vocabulary words to boot? Nice.
