Hi,
I was hoping for recommendation for a bedtime story in Spanish. My husband is a native Spanish speaker and I'm trying to encourage him to speak Spanish regularly to our three month old daughter (with limited success so far!). We do have a consistent bedtime routine where he reads one story in Spanish and I read one in English. The Spanish story is not a bedtime story, though and I'd really like it to be. We have lots of other books in Spanish, but no bedtime stories.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

You can go over the recommendations from this site in La Tiendita. They have a large selection and you can find various stories for bed time.

I's using Mi amor por ti y Buenas Noches bebé. My kids are 3.5 and 10 months. My 3.5 is not bilingual yet, I started a little late.

We have quite a nice library of bilingual books (English and Spanish) that are US classics. You can find most of them online and I'm sure on here as well. Books like 'Goodnight Moon' the Spot series, Curious George etc are all available in Spanish.

You're on the right track….reading is a great way to get started with any language let alone for the kids to be bilingual. Here is a great idea for you. How about a personalized book? The http://www.starboundstorybooks.com/ are now offered in Spanish as well. The Dream Job book is now available in Español!! I love them and the art….plus your kids get a kick out of being the star of the book. Buena suerte. It really helped me to have books in English and Spanish as well.

Hello Phoebe -
A great place also for Spanish stories is codycuentos.com. Many stories in Spanish, audio stories, that can help when Dad is not at home.

If you know Spanish well enough you can just translate on the spot. This is easy to do with books about letters, numbers and color.
Hi Phoebe,
When I first started out looking for children's books in Spanish, I was only familiar with titles I'd read in English before. I typed in something like "Goodnight Moon Spanish" into Amazon's search box, and voila! You will even find that a lot of titles are offered with both languages under one cover. This works out really well for us because our son will have in mind that he wants a certain story, and depending on whether Mommy or Papi is reading for him he can bring us either "Goodnight Moon" or "Buenas Noches Luna" (just as one example).
Another thing I found by accident was when I was looking at the Amazon results page, there were "Listmania" lists of bilingual books from other users. Some of the same titles in Spanish seem to be different people's favorites and I decided to go on our local public library website. Boom! There they were! So we were able to give them a test drive before buying.
