OfflineHola Everyone!
I am writing a magazine article about bilingual preschool education (either nannies or daycare). I am hoping to speak with parents who have decided to raise their kids bilingually, even if they themselves are monolingual. I am also looking for parents (English as a second language) who have decided to enroll their children in a bilingual daycare.
I was raised bilingually (my mom is from Mexico) so I am really interested in the increase in demand fro Pre-K bilingual education. Additionally, I will be looking at the benefits of acquiring a second language from an early age from a linguistic perspective. I will also be looking at the social changes that may have led to parents wanting to raise bilingual children. This article is for class (I am a journalism and Spanish major at Northwestern University), but if all goes well I hope to freelance it with a magazine such as Parents. I would appreciate any help.
Muchas Gracias,
Lauren

Hey Lauren, I know it may too late but would love to chat. I am fully bilingual (born in Bogota, Colombia, moved to the US when I was 2), and am raising my two children bilingually in Washington DC (with a gringo dad who has learned Spanish and is fully supportive!). Please let me know if you still writing. I can be reached at mcardona@deweysquare.com. Cell is 202-379-8341. Thanks much!
