Spanish-4-You http://www.spanish-4-you.com in Los Angeles and Orange County specializes in teaching Spanish to kids in record time. We teach many after-schools programs at elementary schools throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. My favorite school is Van Gogh Elementary in Granada Hills where we have been teaching since February 2010. Spanish is always the most popular class and it is filled to capacity. In one year, the kids have learned a lot: Greetings/Colors/Pets/Farm Animals/ Numbers/Foods/Zoo Animals/Body Parts/Physical Characteristics/Family Members and Clothes. I shot this video during the third class of this spring session where we have been studying clothes. We started the Clothes topic by showing big colorful pictures of different items. We always introduce the topic in context and we "recycle" old information into the new one. For instance, with clothes, we practice colors and size, as well as the physical descriptions of the people wearing them (things that kids have learned in the past). We do this so that they do not forget what they have learned. In this particular video, the kids are drawing clothes using templates. When they finish, they need to present the drawing to their classmates by describing in detail everything they have drawn. We always have a fun artistic activity to wrap things up.
