It reminds me a lot of my wife’s long conversations with the kids about very simple things. She always engages them and asks questions, explains things and rephrases things so that she is achieving her goal of getting them speaking Spanish and they are accomplishing their goal of getting attention and being heard.
Although our kids go back and forth between speaking Spanish and English when they play, my son for some reason is speaking much more Spanish now and my daughter goes along with it.
