Last weekend I had the pleasure to watch Disney’s Mars Needs Moms with my children and their cousins. In the movie, nine-year-old Milo discovers just how important his mom is to him when she is kidnapped by Martians who plan to rob her of her maternal attributes in order to nurture their own young. In his quest to save his mom, Milo realizes just how much he loves and needs his mom.
This movie uses motion-capture animation which added visual interest, and this technique was especially effective in depicting the planet Mars. The special effects added to the story and made it interesting and exciting to watch. I also love the fact that the DVD has the sound track in English, French, and Spanish. As always with Disney movies, the translations are well done.
What I loved most about this movie was its emphasis on the unconditional love a mother has for her children. In spite of the fact that moms may pester their kids to do their chores and require them to eat their vegetables, they have a love for their children that knows no limits in time or space.

My daughter hates cleaning the cat littler boxes, she could definately do without that chore. But it’s her cat, her responsibility!
My sons’ hate doing the laundry – helping load the washer, empty the dryer, and folding.
My son doesn’t have any chorey chores, but he does help with things voluntarily. He honestly likes to vacuum and help with dishes and clean up after himself. I know its wierd, but I’m cool with that.
Cleaning their room
Making her bed. I guess it really doesn’t matter since she will mess it up again sooner or later.
Sweeping because she just drags the broom around the room.
