When we returned to the US, she stopped speaking English completely. She was about to start kindergarten, and we would all speak English to her, but she would only respond in Turkish. This went on for weeks, and my parents were freaked out. As soon as she started kindergarten and started interacting with her friends, it all came back as if she had never forgotten it!
