What a great story! Thanks for sharing because that's how we can reinforce these facts and have other parents get motivated to use these "tactics."

TRUE!! This is what is happening with my 2 year old. My 8 year old never spoke spanish but suddenly he started learing it because we convinced him that our 2 year old ONLY speaks spanish. Now after years giving up with him learning spanish, he is learning right along with my 2 year old!

We'd love for our children, Chloe (4 in a week) and Kylen (2.5) to speak to each other in Spanish to each other all the time but at least for now they seem to more or less speak the language to each other of the parent that is with them. We do the one-parent-one-language strategy so when I'm around they tend to speak English to each other and Spanish when my wife is with them. When we spy on them and they are alone, they usually seem to speak English.

Maybe when we take a trip to Argentina they'll start speaking Spanish to each other?
