THANKYOU for such a great response! It has answered my questions perfectly. We are currently waiting to hear from the visa application agency to see if our application has been successful. This being a YES it will then only be a month or so until they move here. I will definately look for ESL lessons here where I live (In Norwich, 2 hours from London) and we have a deal (because I am learning spanish!) that during the week we will talk english and during the weekends spanish so we get a mix!

I also agree that once the stepdaughter connects with peers, she will quickly acquire the second language.
