I am all about interactive learning, and Cha-cha-cha en la Selva is a fantastic and fun book! It is published by Barefoot Books, which offers many Spanish language titles as well as English ones.
The vivid illustrations and rhyming text immediately engages the kids’ interest. Cha-cha-cha en la Selva comes with an audio CD, which my children love to listen to. We have listened to and read it so many times that they have the entire book memorized, and can recite the text in the same intonation as the speaker on the CD.
Throughout the story, the animals move and dance, introducing different vocabulary and commands. Included at the end of the book are illustrations of each animal doing a different action. As a review, my kids always do the actions of each animal. Sometimes we play guessing games as they do the action, and we have to guess which animal. Great language production activity! Although it is recommended for ages 2- 6 years, there is something teachable for all language levels. This is definitely one of our favorite books!
