I felt like a very lucky woman last week when I got a chance to be among the members of the media to preview “Mickey and the Magical Map,” Disneyland’s newest musical, dance and animation spectacle. It was amazing to see the technological innovations Disney imagineers created with the 35,000 square inches of LED screen that has sections that move and open up to reveal parts of the show. But even as amazing as those innovations are, the show is filled with nostalgia, such as sorcerer apprentice Mickey and Yen Sid the sorcerer, and and all-time favorites from classic movies like The Little Mermaid that just grab you from the start and don’t let go until the full 22-minute joy ride is over.

In perfect Disney fashion, “Mickey and the Magical Map” has a fantastic story line and a moral. My daughter wasn’t able to go with me to this preview, so I used Disney’s Story app to create two stories — one in English and the other in Spanish — so that I could share through pictures and text the magical adventure I can’t wait to take her to experience in real life.

Until we get to go together, we can relish in these digital stories of what will soon be our favorite Disneyland show and let our own imaginations lead our Mickey-laden dreams. Hope you love them too!
