Leanna- I actually did a ton of research on summer camps in Costa Rica and there are some AMAZING opportunities. Most of them start when the children are 6, which is why we didn't go there this summer (our youngest two are 5). It is on our list for the future though!:)

That is awesome!!! I would recommend looking at your library for the Lonely Planet Puerto Rico guide- they have web sites for local house rental agencies. I'm sure renting a little apartment would be cheaper than a hotel- unless you can bargain down the hotel!

We were looking for a Spanish immersion camp for our daughter who just turned 3 year old, but we have not been able to find a satisfactory one in our area (non-native speakers / price issues). While on a cruise a couple weeks ago, we stopped in Puerto Rico. I noticed a daycare group at the Fort and thought they were so cute. That got me thinking... Why not a summer camp in Puerto Rico?! What more "immersion" could I want than that? I checked around and found out that the YMCA there has a summer camp. The camp is for the months of June and July (you don't have to do both months) and the hours are from 7am to 6:30pm! The cost will be around $425 per month. While that is a little less than the cost of the (English only) YMCA summer camp in our area, the PR hours are longer and the price is significantly less than traveling to another state to find a Spanish language immersion day camp! Unfortunately, the starting minimum age of the PR YMCA camp is 4, so while we still do not have plans for this summer, we have next summer mostly planned out. We have everything figured out, but we would like to find somewhere to stay that is less expensive than a hotel for the 2 months. (Any suggestions would really be appreciated!).
