Share Your Messy Moments and Win

A series of messy moments… the perfect way to describe (one part of) motherhood – especially when there’s a baby involved.

Before I became a mom, one of the things I dreaded most about having babies was the idea of changing diapers, particularly the poop type. Everybody used to tell me that it wasn’t that bad when it was your own child, but I didn’t feel any different once my daughter was born. I wanted to barf every single time I had to change a diaper with poop. With time, of course, I learned to deal with it, but nothing prepared me for my daughter’s first real diaper explosion.

The first few months of my daughter’s life, I was brave enough to use cloth diapers – oh what a mess that always was! Anyhow, I remember it was a pretty cold day and my mom, my sister-in-law and I had decided to go to the mall. My daughter had fallen asleep in her car seat on our way there, so I dropped my mom and my sister-in-law off while I circled around the parking lot waiting for her to wake up.

About 15 minutes later, she did and so I parked the car and went around the other side to get her. As soon as I opened the door, I got a whiff of the deadly scent coming from her. I made sure I had everything I needed inside her diaper bag and went to pick her up so I could change her in the comfort of the family restroom inside the mall. As soon as I put my hand behind her back and felt it warm and wet, I knew it: diaper explosion!

As I already mentioned, it was cold and at this point I was by myself. I picked up my baby, covered her with a blanket and used some wipes to clean the car seat as best I could. Once inside the mall, I headed straight for the family restroom so I could deal with the mess. When I finally got all the layers of clothing off my daughter, I couldn’t believe that the poop had made it all the way to her neck! I wanted to die! Her onesie was so stained that I decided to throw it out. All I really wanted was go back home and give my poor baby a bath!

Disgusting, right? So what’s your most messy moment? Share it and you can win big!

Children or not, we all remember the messy moment in our lives. If you feel like sharing these, you can receive a coupon and be entered to win a daily prize of a gift card for $100 and the grand prize of $25,000 at Clorox’s Bleach It Away. Now that’s worth reliving a messy moment, no?

Disclosure: This post is part of a sponsored campaign to promote Clorox’s Bleach It Away. Sadly, the story of the diaper explosion is all mine.
