I can’t imagine what it must have been like speaking a language that your parents didn’t fully understand. I’m sure it had its pros, like you aptly describe, but it must have been difficult too. And to think that so many Latinos go through the same thing!

Carlos speaks “whistle” too. ROFL. I never knew there were so many different kinds until I met him. If we’re in a crowded place and get separated, all he has to do is whistle and I know it’s him and where he is — the kids too.
