I loved this post beyond what I´m capable of expressing here! I just came back from Oaxaca and felt exactly what you are feeling. I am now convinced that I need to create these deep immersion experiences for my girl because no matter how much I can surround her with her heritage here, the sublime magic of everything that surrounds the real traditions can not be reproduced.
I´m so happy for you and your kids. How amazing.

I needed to see this precisely now. Next week I’ll be taking the kids to see their grandparents in Tierra Caliente. I’ve been dreading that I won’t have a shower or a lot of other comforts for 10 days. Thanks for reminding me that Mexico is magic. Suddenly I am feeling a lot more excited.
