I loved your post Jessie. Even though I am a Dominicana who experienced more freedom growing up and living in the Dominican Republic, one of my main concerns is passing the love of my country to my children while we are far away. The description of your mom made me feel as if I know her, it's that kind of strong Dominican woman that gives everything to her children that symbolizes La Patria. And teaching our children to love the country where we come from (with its flaws and disadvantages) it's a noble task that admire highly. On another note, it's great to be able to have two Mother's Day. ;-)
