I love that your daughter recognizes something special about Miami. I’m the same way. Every once in a while I’ll go down from Chicago to get my Miami fix. Soy Cubana, so I feel like I need it. It’s ok when I leave and come back to Chicago, though. I’ve lived in Miami, Vermont, Colorado….and I sometimes wonder why I left, especially when it’s freezing here. I lived in Coral Gables but taught in Dade county Region V schools out in Kendall. The most creative, passionate, warm, FUN teachers were in those schools. As a matter of fact, until last year I would travel there annually to participate in a storytelling festival. That’s how funny these productions were. Next time you’re there you have to eat at Versailles en la calle 8. Great Cuban food.

That's hilarious, my husband went to Pollo Tropical 3 times and we'd never eaten there before. We had a great time. I was so excited about having a media noche sandwich that I had one for breakfast. .-= Unknown Mami´s last blog ..Change in Programming =-.

I fell in loved with Miami as well! as soon I met my husband back at home I told him, we HAVE to go to Miami, you will love it. See, my gringo husband loves all things latino, specially salsa music!
